Olympic Village and the Limehouse Cut

Details
We did this meetup in June with quite a low turnout. As the Olympic Village is changing each week I would like to run it again. There is quite a bit of walking involved so wear comfortable shoes. It is also bicycle friendly. We start at Pudding Mill Lane DLR station. There is only one exit so it should not be difficult to find the group. There is a "view tube" (http://www.theviewtube.co.uk/home.html) nearby where we can view the Olympic site with toilets and a cafe. There will a exhibition on at the view tube that weekend as well.
The plan is to spend an hour here and then walk down to the Three Mills (http://www.leevalleypark.org.uk/en/content/cms/leisure/nature_reserves/three_mills_island/three_mills_island.aspx). This takes about 15 minutes. There is a nice view of the Oast houses from alongside the canal. And also a Tesco where we can get sandwiches and drinks for lunch (and toilets). We will spend about an hour here and then tackle the longest part of the walk along the Limehouse Cut (http://www.waterscape.com/canals-and-rivers/limehouse-cut) to the Thames.
This takes about an hour. It is along a towpath so there are not many places to gather as a group but one or two people could stop and draw as the mood takes you. At the end of the towpath there is a small park to the left (which you can walk through and out onto the Thames river path) and Limehouse Marina to the right with some very nice boats to draw.
The aim is to end up at The Narrow pub (http://gordonramsay.com/thenarrow/ambience/index.html?slideshow=true) at around 16.00 which is on the Thames and has outside tables. As there is no shelter along the Limehouse Cut this trip is vulnerable to the weather so I shall be keeping an eye on the weather forecast. I will post an update nearer the time. The Westfield shopping centre will be open then so might be worth a look?
There are no planned engineering works on the DLR that weekend but check tfl (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/modalpages/2625.aspx) for other lines.
Look forward to seeing you on 1 October.
