Announcing a new Meetup for Drawing London on Location!
What: Spitalfields Market, Christ Church and Brick Lane
When: Saturday, June 5,[masked]:00 AM
65 Brushfield Street
I said to some of you at the last meet we would be going to Richmond park and Richmond riverside, but as I've not worked out a clear route for this one yet, I'm going to put this one on hold til I visit there again. If however, anyone has any suggestions for routes in Richmond park please email me I'd be interested to hear/see them. Anyway that said our next trip will now be around the lively and inspiring area of Brick Lane and Spitalfields market. There's a lot of movement around here in a very concentrated area and many interesting street scenes can be found especially along Brick Lane, or one of the other adjoining streets. We'll be meeting for this trip in front of the entrance to Spitalfields market on Brushfield street. There's two good options for drawing here: for drawing people there's Spitalfields market of course and for architecture there's Christ church just at the end of Brush street - which is visible from the entrance to the market. After spending a couple of hours here we'll move onto Brick Lane up to the Truman Brewery. Brick Lane can get very busy these days, but there are little quiet pockets that can be found along the street, or in one of the faux bohemian cafes.
After spending our day sketching through the masses we'll reconvene and as per usual move onto a pub - probably the Water Poet or Ten Bells, or one of the other dozen in the area - for a well deserved drink and the opportunity to look at each others work.
