The Roaming Studio founded this group to create a social network of artists at all levels -- where art can be done in a casual atmosphere, and then discussed over booze! Many of our gatherings are free, and we try to vary the meet up locations - we'll meet up at the art museum, the zoo, a karaoke place or even do a pub crawl with our sketchbooks in hand. Leah Kohlenberg offers occasional art classes for a fee, too, for those interested in boosting their skills.
The principal owner of The Roaming Studio, Leah Kohlenberg, is a mostly self-taught artist, though she's taken classes at the Gage Academy in Seattle and PNCA here in Portland. She's also studied privately with Armenian artists Hakob Hovannisyan and Arthur Sarkissian, and Georgian artist Lado Pochkhua. She's been teaching art about five years, starting art schools in Budapest, Hungary, and Zagreb, Croatia, where she lived and worked for several years. The Roaming Studio offers live online art instruction via Skype, wherever you live in the world. Check it out here at www.theroamingstudio.com
My name is Leah Kohlenberg. I'm an artist and art teacher who offers private and group art instruction both in the studio and live and online through my company, The Roaming Studio. The Roaming Studio is the official sponsor of this meetup group!
I love it, but I'm biased, as I'm the organizer
