Drupal Migration
Hosted by Silicon Valley Drupal User Group
Details
One (final) update. In addition to the Migration presentation and the Jobs announcement, I just got word from Zach Chandler that he is planning a Stanford DrupalCamp (http://drupalcamp.stanford.edu/) for the weekend after next. We will use the feedback portion of the meeting to discuss what sessions we'd like to see.

Hello Fellow Drupalers,
You are invited to meet on April 25th, 2012 (Wednesday, 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM) to listen to Chris Leppanen discuss Drupal Migration.
Chris is a senior Drupal architect at Propeople and is behind the huge migration Propeople is doing at Stanford GSB.
Types of migrations: static HTML, database, export(XML, json, etc) Modeling data in Drupal: Mapping from existing schemas into Drupal objects(nodes, users, comments, other entities). Mirgrate vs Feeds modules pros/cons for above Walk through a Feeds configuration. In addition to the presentation, we will have a number of consulting companies in the audience who have successfully done migration in the past, including Halosys, SourceN and Propeople.
So have your questions ready!
This topic was chosen because there was so much interest in it last time, so please let Me or Manish know what speaker topics you want to hear about.
We also would like to know about talks you can present to the group or referrals to companies who use Drupal.
We would like to invite them to share their experiences.
We Drupalers do mix work with Beer and refreshments.
This meeting's refreshments will be sponsored by Propeople (Thanks to Michael Drejer).
See you then,
Best Regards,
Bill and Manish
