Backup Strategy and Disaster Recovery in PostgreSQL

As promised in an earlier, message Gabriele Bartolini (LinkedIn: https://it.linkedin.com/in/gbartolini ) will be visiting Dubai and has agreed to deliver a session on Backup and Disaster Recovery! Gabriele is a long time open-source programmer and has been writing Linux/Unix applications in C and C++ for over 15 years, specializing in search engines and web analytics with large databases. He is currently the lead of the Barman project ( http://www.pgbarman.org/ ) and runs the Italian office for 2ndQuadrant.

Are you tired of managing backup and recovery processes of your PostgreSQL server using custom scripts? Are you worried about being called in the night or worse whilst on holiday to perform a recovery operation of your company's business critical PostgreSQL server?

Barman, Backup and Recovery Manager, standardizes backup and recovery operations, allowing database administrators and system administrators to easily integrate their PostgreSQL solutions in their disaster recovery plan.

Barman is distributed as open source under GNU GPL 3 terms.
