Cassandra in Time

Hi All,

Interested in time series use cases? For example, storing and processing click stream or sensor data? Apache Cassandra has proven to be one of the best solutions for storing and retrieving time series data at high velocity and high volume.

This talk will give you an overview of the many ways you can be successful. We will discuss how the storage model of Cassandra is well suited for this pattern and go over examples of how best to build data models. Our speaker for the evening will be Patrick McFadin.

Patrick's Bio:

Patrick McFadin is regarded as one of the foremost experts of Apache Cassandra and data modelling techniques. As the Chief Evangelist for Apache Cassandra and consultant for DataStax, he has helped build some of the largest deployments in the world. Previous to DataStax, he was Chief Architect at Hobsons, an education services company. There, he spoke often on Web Application design and performance.

Also on the night we will have a guest speaker who will do a short presentation on a topic of interest to the Cassandra community, more details on that later. There will be SWAG courtesy of DataStax and pizza and beer as usual.
