What we’re about
Fáilte! ...FYI We are NOT a running club! :D This group is for **WOMYN** who identify as LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer, Non-Binary, Gender Fluid or Questioning).
It's a Social Club for adult womyn, single & partnered, over 18 years of age, who want to meet new people, develop new friendships, participate in common interest activities (the possibilities are endless), network, share resources, build 'a sense of community' and have a bit of Craic!
We organise on & off scene Events: movie nights, book club, walking/hiking outings, museum visits, coffee MeetUps, pub nights, clubbing, theatre, meals out, dances, many sports etc. Events are largely based in Dublin & surrounding counties and some events are run/hosted in other locations around Ireland.
Arrangements can be made to meet up with anyone interested first-timers or otherwise, before an event so you don't have to go on your own. We have all been 'Newbies' at one time or another ;)
Creating a safe environment for womyn, is important to us. We have 'Meeter Greeters' to meet you before an Event and also to ensure that everyone is given a warm welcome.
An ethos/culture of mutual respect, courtesy, warmth, dignity, '**positivity'** and inclusivity for all members is expected.
We currently have dozens of volunteer Event Organizers on our Leadership Team. Feel free to suggest any ideas you have for exciting/alternative events.
Your ideas are always welcome ;) You will also have the opportunity to become an Event Host if you wish.
Over 5,800 (yes, you read that correctly) MeetUp Events have taken place so far... and feedback has been very positive.
This Club is non commercial/non-profit.
Membership is free.
This is not a dating website...'but accidents do happen" (i.e. Double digit engagements & several weddings/civil partnerships :) We have welcomed a few babies to the RA family as well!!
'Running Amach' is a play on the phrase Running Amok. 'Amach' means 'out' in Irish ;)
**Please note:** we are asking womyn who apply to register with our Club to provide a photo or image on their profile page (this helps to jazz up the site). If you would like to protect your privacy....... just upload a favourite image, use your first name or a nickname.
