Hi, got this back form David in Waterford.

    Hi Elizabeth

Many thanks for your kind comments, I’m delighted that you had an enjoyable visit to Waterford and what we have to offer within the Viking Triangle.

I have passed on your kind comments to Ritchie and to members of the team here in both museum’s and also to James down in Reginald’s Tower.

If there is ever anything we can do for you, please give me a call.

    Regards

    David

I sent this the chap who helped me with planning the trip.

    Dear David

I wanted to thank you for all your help with this. I also wanted to let you know what a wonderful time the group had in Waterford. Can you pass our thanks on to all those involved with the walk, Bishops Palace and the museum particularly Ritchie who was a mine of information and such good craic. Can you give the people at Reginalds Tower our thanks as well.

We were so impressed with all the knowledge everyone we met had and how proud they were of their city. A return visit is required now I think to spend even more time in Waterford.

On behalf of the group I wish you all the very best for the season ahead.

    Kindest regards

    Elizabeth

Think we can safely say it was a success :-)

    Don't worry Christine, I may wear a hat...but it won't be a helmet...hahaha...hmm...perhaps a white Gobnait wig...or perhaps a beehive...to keep the Vikings at bay...they say that her bees were powerful at attacking invaders...but that's another story...hahaha!

Hi - booked into the Granville and going via train :)

    1 · March 13, 2014

  • Noel C

Booked the Marina hotel. Will decide later if I'll go by rail or take the car.
Tried to book seat on train but won't let me log my name to a seat .
My neighbour has used the train before and said that she doesn't prebook a seat as they are nearly always taken if you don't get there early. Said not point in calling a porter as they don't really care. Haven't traveled on a train in over 20 years so not too sure if all this is true.

    1 · March 12, 2014

Maybe i have missed something? Getting there and organising a bed to sleep in is down to the individuals - or is someone going thru the hassle of organising that too? Thanks a mil for feedback!

    March 5, 2014

    • Christine

Hi Nicole, we'll provide the info - you need to get yourself there/back safely :-) Will put info up this weekend....

      March 5, 2014

So are Viking helmets merely optional ? :)

    1 · February 27, 2014

  • Claire

And the Crystal museum of course, just across from Bishop's Palace. Don't trip over Theatre Royal, which is also right beside the aforementioned Bishop's Palace!

    February 27, 2014

  • Claire

I lived in Waterford for 5 years, so I probably won't go, but Waterford is great, particularly because everything is well within walking distance! I would recommend seeing the Medieval Museum, Bishop's Palace, Christ Church Cathedral and Reginald's Tower, all within the tiny Viking Triangle! The main hotels are also very very close! Have a lovely time!

    2 · February 27, 2014

  • Elaine
