This "Ultimate Fatburn Bootcamp" session is aimed at one thing, burning fat. To burn the maximum amount of fat during a session you should be doing exercises that work as many muscles as possible and at a high intensity, so that even after you stop exercising your body will still be burning calories, this is called the EPOC effect, and there is no better exercise than sprinting, up a hill.
So tonight's session will consist of a warm up followed by a hill sprint session which will last around half an hour of sprint / rest / repeat. Are you up for it? All you have to do is run as fast as you can, it doesn't matter if your speed is fast or slow, we are all different shapes, sizes and fitness levels, what is important is your effort, which should be 100%.
What is the EPOC effect? EPOC is all about your post-exercise oxygen consumption. When we work out we use a lot of oxygen. The harder you exercise, the harder you breathe, and the more oxygen you use. This oxygen deficit that you created during your workout needs to be replenished post-workout. Not only does this oxygen deficit need to reach homeostasis, but many other reactions occur within the body to bring it back to its pre-workout resting state, which burns calories for hours after you stop exercising, unlike cardio.
Effective EPOC training means that you will be busting your butt. You will be out of breath. Walking or other low-intensity exercise just isn’t going to cut it. If you want that afterburn effect, you’re going to have to work for it. The extra effort will be well worth it.

We meet at the crossroads beside the fort in Phoenix Park, if driving from main entrance in the city centre, take a left at the first roundabout and you will come to a cross roads, the white bench on the right is where we meet at 6.45pm.

If the weather is very bad then check the comments on website one hour before bootcamp starts, that is where I will announce any cancellations, light rain is still acceptable.
As a matter of respect, anyone who regularly RSVP's as "going" and never shows up will be removed from the group. If you have to cancel your place always remember to change your RSVP. Your health and safety is entirely your responsibility, you must sign a disclaimer before taking part in any class.
