Spark, Mesos, Akka, Cassandra & Kafka - The SMACK Stack

After a short break for the summer, we are very excited to announce our latest Reactive Meetup (jointly hosted with the Spark meetup) featuring Andy Petrella, the author of the Spark Notebook (https://github.com/andypetrella/spark-notebook) a tool that brings the massive power of Apache Spark to the browser. Anyone with an interest in using Spark for data science should attend. Andy has a huge wealth of experience with big data processing with his consultancy, Data Fellas (http://www.data-fellas.guru/).

We are also delighted to have Alexy Khrabov returning to the meetup from our SF office, where he and Roland Tritsch (our new VP Infrastructure) will talk about the SMACK stack, where Spark, Mesos, Akka, Cassandra and Kafka can be combined together to build big data pipelines.

In return for a superb group of speakers, a great chance to network and beer / pizza / wine etc. we would ask that every attendee donate €10 to Techies4Temple Street charity.

NB: Nitro are moving their EMEA HQ next week so we will announce the new location in the coming days. But it is in central Dublin - very central, and close to all public transport links.
