While the development community has largely moved beyond waterfall into agile methodologies that allow for faster, better code delivery, design has been left behind. This talk lays out 5 key processes designers can implement to work at the speed of agile, and develop consistency on a larger team.

The key processes are:

1. Goal & deliverable based user research

2. Single source of truth for design documentation

3. Design task prioritisation and pointing

4. Task acceptance by product management

5. Process consistency over tool consistency.

David Randall is the Product Design Lead for Pivotal Labs Dublin, a consultancy focused on balanced teams and rapid software development. He has worked in software since 2005 and studied design at the Human Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh.
