Hellooo Active Gamers!
Okay...2013 is winding down and we've played lots of games. However, no board gaming experience is complete until you play at least one board game by Stefan Feld...one of the finest German board game designers EVER (his designs tend to be pretty heavy, but fun!).
Easy to learn, hard to master.
The games we'll have available are 2 copies of Trajan and 1 copy of Bora Bora.
*******************************
Trajan (2011) by Stefan Feld
Taught by Manny and Amanda (thanks Amanda!).

"Set in ancient Rome, Trajan is a development game in which players try to increase their influence and power in various areas of Roman life such as political influence, trading, military dominion and other important parts of Roman culture."
The central mechanism of the game uses a system similar to that in Mancala or pit-and-pebbles games.
Bora Bora (2013) by Stefan Feld
Taught by Manny.

"Stake your fortunes in the mysterious island world of Bora Bora. Journey across islands, building huts where the resilient men and women of your tribes can settle, discovering fishing grounds and collecting shells. Send priests to the temples, and gather offerings to curry favor with the gods."
Bora Bora is a highly interactive game that utilizes dice to determine what kinds of actions you have available to you. Errr...something like that.
