Rails json bigdecimals and HighStock chart

From: Adrien

I'm emitting some bigdecimal arrays as json, from a controller that is called from a javascript function, that in turn uses it to populate a couple of series in a HighStock chart. The json seems to be formatted correctly and have tried a couple of different formats for the bigdecimal data (the standard output of a scientific notation string and adding a filter to output floats to 10 decimal points.) The HighStock chart is rendering but not displaying the data.

Anyone encounter this problem? Not much on the net and tech support at HighStock thinks the code should work. Will post code example if someone feels it is necessary, but if you've done this before you'll definitely remember it.
