I left the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses last year, after being raised in that faith and spending the better part of 13 years as an active, baptized member. Currently an atheist, I have been stripped of the love and association enjoyed with my believing immediate family and former friends. While the transition has been enormously painful (almost unbearably so), I have found great comfort in meeting others like myself.
You needn't be an atheist to join this group; you needn't hold to any particular theistic belief. Hell, you don't even need to be a former JW to join this group. Obviously, I would encourage all local ex-Jehovah's Witnesses to join and find new friendship, to eat and drink and share some laughs (and perhaps even some tears). That aside, I welcome further anyone also interested or even affiliated with Jehovah's Witnesses; join us and see that we're not the evil, wicked people that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (JW's organizational name, for those unfamiliar) makes us out to be.
