Let's have a special event focusing on 3D scanning. Please bring your laser scanner, Kinetic, software and printed objects from your scan. It will be fun, folks.

OK, so I finally got a Kinect and am having trouble setting it up. Is there a particular how-to site / any recommendations?

Nobody showed up! Maybe the heat scared everyone away...though there was an A/C in the space that worked well enough. Did some 3d scans with the Kinect and Skanect, showed of a print of myself I made previously, didn't get time to fire up any 3d printers. Talked about other 3d scanning and printing tech.

Wish I could, maybe next time.
I'll bring my xbox kinect, and will generate 3d files of anybody in attendance, using the free Skanect software!
Maybe if someone else brings a 3d printer we can print one of them out.

Could bring the printer if we have time to wait for the scans to be printed:) How long is this meeting anybody have an idea?

Sorry Xin something else got rescheduled so now it is a conflict. Maybe I can clone myself one day with a 3D scanner. = )
Will anyone be able to bring in a scanner that we can demonstrate in this event? Thank you.

We just grab
a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
