I would have loved to attend, but unfortunately this is the same day as our minecraft jar hacking session at TriValley CoderDojo. We have members in the dojo who might be interested and I think we could collaborate on events together. Maybe next time. If you'd like to learn more about us, visit www.trivalleycoderdojo.wordpress.com

I can't make it this Wednesday, but I do want to come and check it out. I will fill out your membership form. I am sure my son would love to participate.

Hi Michael, welcome to the group. If you've got organization-level ideas about growing teams I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts.

These are the agenda notes I posted for meeting #2 -- follow-ups on things we talked about at the first meeting.

Clojure definitely sounds interesting to me.

Hey all, I'm Michael-Keith, lovely to e-meet all of you. Would there be any interest in a talk on Clojure or Scala? It seems like there is a pretty good mix of engineering and non-engineering folks and I think the JVM is a super attractive platform especially for small, growing startups. I also have some ideas for other talks ranging from organization-level stuff (growing teams, hiring, etc.) to things more engineering focused (devops, deployment, AWS, etc.). Please let me know if any of this sounds interesting, or if you have ideas for talks you'd like to hear or give. :)

    Cheers,
    MK

I just started reading Land of Lisp ( http://landoflisp.com... ). I'd be interested in learning more about Clojure at some point after I get the basics of Lisp down.

I also started that same book :-) Everything you mention Michael sounds great. (and I'm fussy over EC2 at the moment so AWS would be cool to talk about)
