Announcing a new Meetup for East Bay Shamanic Journey Group!

What: Weekend Retreat: Into The Self, Into the World

When: Friday, November 12, 6:00 PM - Sunday, November 14, 5:00 p.m.

Price: $295.00 per person

Where: Salamander Camp, Santa Cruz Mountains (near Los Gatos)

This powerful and highly experiential shamanic retreat will help you tap into deep sources of insight, wisdom and healing within you. I'm doing it under the auspices of my Writer As Shaman work, but it isn't just for writers! If you are a writer, or interested in writing, you can definitely use these practices to take your writing further. However, if you're primarily interested in self-exploration and healing. you will gain understandings and skills here that may literally make a difference in the rest of your life.

For instance, Claudia D., who attended one of my summer retreats, says, "This practice has opened me up personally and creatively and I love that this is something I can do at home. I have carried back a sense of peace and calm that I did not have before the retreat. I'm also more appreciative of my husband and children. I have a renewed sense of purpose and hope. I finally WANT to write and have actually started writing again, something I have been avoiding for years. I had every excuse of why I wasn't writing; I have small kids, I don't have time, I'm tired, I'm blocked, etc. when at the retreat I clearly realized that I wasn't writing because I was afraid to write. However, I also realized I was afraid not to write. So, since the retreat I have either written or spoken my ideas into a digital voice recorder. I really feel as if I was meant to go to this retreat, and I'm so glad that I did! I would definitely attend again... I didn't know what to expect, but it was much more than I could ever have imagined."

We will begin on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m., share a delicious dinner and evening activities, then continue for two full days, ending at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov 14. Our venue: the beautiful Salamander Camp in the Santa Cruz mountains, featuring lots of hiking, cozy yurts with skylights and woodburning stoves, a hot tub and lap pool. Cost for the entire retreat, including meals and lodging, is only $295. 18 CEUs available for CA-licensed MFTs and LCSWs - $25 additional cost.

During the retreat, we'll explore the connections between writing and shamanic ways of engaging with and understanding the world, and the self. We'll explore both writing and shamanic journeying as healing practices. We'll engage in powerful experiential exercises designed to shift blocks and open new pathways to spirit and creativity. We'll bond as a group, and connect deeply with the natural world... and much more!
