PirateBox is a DIY anonymous offline file-sharing and communications system built with free software and inexpensive off-the-shelf hardware.
Lets meet and talk about why this sort of device is useful and important. A couple demonstrations will be running live during the meetup so please feel free to bring your laptop, phone or tablet to share files and chat amongst ourselves (great place to share notes and ask questions).
One of the coolest things about this project is that it's open source and works on a variety of hardware, leaving us free to change and tweak to our hearts content. Come on over to get an itch for building a piratebox of your own!
More information is available here (http://piratebox.cc/) as well as a link to the project on GitHub.
Hat tip to club member Tim Griffin for suggesting the topic.
