I was born Jewish, but not raised Jewish. It was as an adult that I decided since I kept identifying myself as Jewish, I should figure out what that really means, so I started attending Shabbat services at Temple Chai and absolutely fell in love with it!
I have traveled the globe, my mother is a Sephardic Jew who was born in Algeria, then her family moved to France and then she moved here where she met my father and had me. Therefore, I have been traveling internationally since I was a baby and continue to love the Earth with all it's cultures, cuisines and communities. I was a Peace Corps volunteer who extended her stay because I fell in love with the whole experience and still stay in touch with my Beninese friends.
I have led a very eventful life, some events have been adventurous and wonderful and others have been tragic, but then they all make up who I have become.
I was born Jewish, but had to discover what that meant as an adult & well, I fell in love with our culture and am enjoying celebrating shabbat at Temple Chai, where I am a member. There is still a lot I do not know, but I am learning all the time!
excellent, great group of people in a very interesting discussion!
