Comments About Meeting Duration

Hi, everyone. :-)

I want to speak a little about the book discussion meetings and how long they should be lasting.

Although I officially state that meetings start at 7:00 PM, I don't actually begin the meeting until 7:10 PM. I've done this in order to let latecomers take a seat.

Additionally, meetings end around 8:30 PM, although there are times when it goes over a little because I allow much time for final comments to wrap up the meeting.

Based on feedback I've received lately, I would like to make two minor changes in order to prevent the meetings from ending late:

  • Meetings will start at 7:05 PM instead of 7:10 PM, so please be on time.
  • A maximum of one minute will be allowed per person when it's time to make final comments to wrap up the meeting, so take the opportunity to share final thoughts instead of sharing discussion points that you were not able to share earlier in the meeting.

Hopefully, this will ensure that the meetings don't end too late while still allowing for fun, lively book discussion.

That is all. :-)
