Wine Volunteers Needed

This is from Dave Woods, of Wanderlust Trading Company in Tempe, (a wine distributor that specializes in wines from the Pacific Northwest, Oregon and Washington). He is looking for volunteers for his Trade Tasting on September 23 from 3-7 pm. (he mentioned that volunteers would be going home with some wine and they would also get some food treats)
The details are as follows: (following is the email from Dave)

I've set up 2 shifts, 1:30-5 pm and 4:30-8 pm. I really need some people on the early shift. I've sent the following info to the folks that have already responded.

This event is an open tasting for buyers in the "trade", restaurants and retailers; where they have the opportunity to taste through most of the wines in our portfolio and interact with some winery personnel and the folks from the Washington Wine Commission. We would do this type of event twice a year.

We will have some people from some of the wineries pouring wine and some of our sales staff will also be pouring, but we will need people to pour wine for the trade tasters and people to help keep the logistics moving. We are planning for about 200 people to attend and have about 200 wines being tasted. The purpose of the event is to expose buyers to our wines and give them an opportunity to purchase the wines for their businesses. We hope to educate the attendees on the region and the brands being shown; and demonstrate the quality of the wines from the Northwest (Oregon, Washington). This is not a party, but a selling event.

We will provide you with instruction on pouring tastes as well as some information on the wines you will be pouring. In essence you will be helping us "sell" these products, talking favorably about the winery and the wines. We will have our sales people available to back you up with information.

Due to the time involved, I will run 2 shifts for volunteers; 1:30-5 PM and 4:30 to 8 PM. The show is open from 3-7. This schedule allows us to get you ready and help setup and tear down from the show.

The first shift will get orientation from 1:30-2 pm and help setup the wines; the second shift will get orientation from 4:30-5 pm and help wrap things up from 7-8 pm. This also allow you to taste some wines after the first shift and the second shift as the show starts to slow down and after we close the doors.

For your efforts you will get the opportunity to taste the same wines as the trade buyers, enjoy some food and you will be going home with some wine.

Some people will be coming from their work and need to be on the second shift; the individuals I know about are:

Michelle Zadel
Sandra Groman
Katie McKean

I would like 7 more people that can work the second shift; and I need 10 people to work the first shift. Please e-mail and let me know when you can work, First Shift, Second Shift or either.

If you commit to helping us we will be counting on you to be in attendance and on time.

Cheers!
