This weeks ride will be a social jaunt on the East Side starting in Kirkland and heading southward into Bellevue down to the I-90 corridor. We will return up Rose Hill and then along the Kirkland Waterfront north of Marina Park. While not exceptionally hilly, this 28 mile ride has about 2000 feet of cumulative climbing - which is much more than we typically do on the rides we post on this site. Come dressed for all kinds of December weather. This ride could be your last great relaxation and preparation opportunity for the holiday festivities which may be about to begin in earnest! The pace will be Steady on the flats with occasional regroups. Cue Sheets are available at: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1995711. Riders should have 2 tubes, pump, and the knowledge of how to use them. The map to starting location: http://goo.gl/maps/AVDd0

What a great turn-out! It turned out to be a beautiful day - a little drizzle at first but then the sun cam out for the rest of the ride. A great, diverse route going through Medina and up Bridle Trails...

Fab ride - great weather (at least for December) and great riding companions. Ended up with 16 total riders!! This was a fun course - we will be re-riding on New Year's Day as well.

Sounds like fun even with a 2000 foot elevation gain. I have made some other commitments for that day. Enjoy yourselves!

While the rain has been torrential on Thursday so far, the weatherman is predicting better weather for Sunday - they are showing showers and sunbreaks! Normally we would cancel the ride in the event of the end of the world but we really need to get this one in so, while we are planning for the Mayan prediction not to come true, we will probably ride even if it does.
