What is a Digital Fab SLAM:
The Digital FabSlam, described simply, is a science fair style team competition where groups of students are presented with a challenge topic and then using basic CAD and 3D-Printing skills, the students develop a product using rapid prototyping and design iteration. The student teams will track and record their learning process and their design iterations over the course of the challenge. At the closing event, the teams will present their projects and documentation at the Tech Center to the public and a panel of judges from the field. It will be very exciting and a great opportunity for youth. No previous skills are necessary. Teams can be paired up with a local University or Community lab and mentor to learn basic CAD and 3D-Printing skills.

The topic for this cycle of the Digital Fab SLAM is PLAY! Teams can register until Friday, April 19th. More information about the challenge and updates from our student teams can be found at http://www.fabslam.org . Come and see what the student teams have created!
