ST Math and LearnZillion with students!

For the next meetup, Edtech NOLA is trying something completely new!

We are going to showcase ST Math & LearnZillion, two different technologies that are being used to enhance education in schools across the country.  But we're not just going to talk about them.  We will invite a few middle school students to come in and test these products out.

Participants (that's you!) will have a chance to watch the students in action, ask them about their experience, and try the products out yourself. We're firm believers in learning through experience, so come experience these technologies in a fun, casual environment.

Oh, did we mention pizza?  Yup, we'll have pizza too.

Intrigued?  Here are the details:

Date: August 14th
Location: PropellerAddress: 4035 Washington Ave
Time: 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Parking: free in the Propeller lot

ST Math

Ever heard of JiJi?  The beloved penguin (yes, penguin!) is the cornerstone to ST Math's unique way of encouraging mastery of fundamental math concepts. ST Math introduces all concepts visually using interactive graphics. Then, once students grasp the concepts visually, mathematic symbols are layered in.  You can try ST Math for yourself here.

Created by teachers, for teachers, LearnZillion is an online learning platform with an impressive repository of high-quality, short video lessons.  Their videos are developed by a community of master teachers and are aligned to the Common Core. Teacher can use all the videos they want for free!  You can check the videos out here.

Hello Everyone! I was looking forward to meeting you all, but tonight is the Women In Tech Kickoff Party. Can someone take some unofficial group notes? Would love to connect and get to know you all soon.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
