Speaker:
Geoffrey McGill is the founder of Ext.NET and a 10+ year veteran of ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript development. Geoffrey is responsible for overseeing the technical and strategic direction of Ext.NET.
Ext.NET is an advanced ASP.NET (WebForms + MVC) component framework integrating the cross-browser Sencha Ext JS JavaScript Library. Online demos are available in the Ext.NET Examples Explorer (http://examples.ext.net/). As an early adopter of Ext JS, the benefit to ASP.NET developers was obvious, although how to integrate into the ASP.NET life cycle was not. This is where the idea for Ext.NET was sparked.
Abstract:
At this meetup, we'll get a solid introduction to Ext.NET and learn how to leverage the framework to quickly build web based applications that will impress your users and make your boss happy.
We'll briefly skim over the history of Ext.NET (boring, but necessary), then jump right in, getting our hands dirty slinging code. Ext.NET is an ASP.NET component framework, mostly for building snappy looking, functional, and user friendly WebForms or ASP.NET MVC applications.
We'll be building a sample application to help get you started. Demonstrations will include many core techniques such configuring Layouts, Grids and data connection options.
