We have two guests this month to discuss how they have reached and built an audience:
• Kelly Froese of Edmonton Nerd List (https://edmontonnerdlist.com/), has built a huge resource of all things nerdy in our city, including a lot of local podcasts. He doesn't have a podcast of his own (yet!), but he has a lot of wisdom to share about cultivating a community, getting media attention and building an audience for others.
• Jeff Williams of Guerrilla Radio (http://gradio.ca/) has also amassed an empire in a short time, creating an Internet radio station that "exists to promote local music and culture from around the city to people around the world, and strives to be a sustainable platform from which local artists and musicians can promote themselves." You'll hear a growing number of local podcasts on Guerrilla Radio.
We'll also make sure there's time for visiting, and as always, aspiring podcasters are invited to ask our veterans anything before and after we hear from Kelly and Jeff.
There will be door prizes from The Debutantes (https://thedebutantes.ca/oddwednesday/) and Taproot Edmonton (https://www.taprootedmonton.ca/), and snacks (chocolate mint Girl Guide cookies, to be specific, with boxes for sale if you're so inclined). Note that we're at Variant Edition (http://variantedmonton.com/)'s new location in Jasper Place. RSVP so we can plan!
