This group started when 4 people decided they could not find a social community for people interested in consciousness and egolessness. For understanding that we have ego, but we are not the ego.

So, this is a social and educational community for people interested in 1) calming our egos (as much as we can) to reveal one's true self and 2) practicing/learning about consciousness, awareness, meditation...

This is not a commercial venture. We are not selling anything, you don't either (no spam please). This is not a singles "hook-up" group. We are open to single and non-single.

This group consists of discussions and socializing - even sessions of study and meditation. Basically we aim to be a healthy, social, fulfilling substitute for going out to bars and clubs.

This group is open to people who are any of the following: non-religious, spiritual, Buddhists, Taoists or anyone of any religion who is open-minded and aims to observe their ego and learn how to become more conscious.

We will discuss related topics including each others' experiences with similar groups. We also intend to participate in "Visiting Events" as individuals or as a group with other groups/organizations who practice meditation and consciousness.

If you are interested in any topics below then you are in the right place:

Meditation - Buddhism - Awareness - Consciousness - Watchful Mind - Inner-peace - Awakening - Impermanence - Attachment - Ego and Fear block our True Self - The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle - Wayne Dyer - Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life - Tao Te Ching - Dalai Lama - Deepak Chopra - Hinduism - Pema Chodron - Thich Nhat Hanh - Adyashanti - Joseph Campbell - Carl Jung - Alan Watts - Mindfulness - Tara Brach - and many others...

Mindfulness: a calm awareness of one's body functions, feelings, content of consciousness, or consciousness itself.

As the Organizer, I prefer that you have a picture of yourself in your profile - this is not about "image" but about group safety (yes, i know, that's based on fear LOL).

Namaste - I honor the Spirit in you which is also in me

P.S.

Why the name EgoNot?

Naive Not we are to believe that we have or can achieve complete egolessness at all times.

We strive Not for perfection, but progression in our attempt to be present with the understanding that we have an ego but that we are not our ego.

It is our choice to strive for consciousness, for selflessness, for oneness with all others, to progress towards becoming an "ego Not" or to be selfish and fearful so that we suffer and struggle and twist our lives into a tangle.

Ego Not, or Ego knot. Your choice.
