I am an proud atheist. I was raised catholic, but I was doubtful throughout.
I hope to help, comfort, educate and enjoy time with other like minded people. I hope the group becomes active in creating separation of church and state and promoting the acceptance of atheism in society through civic volunteering, social media, advertising, and political involvement.
I was born and raised in El Paso. I am an atheist with atheist wife and 3 sons. We are very happy.
First off, the people are great. Absolutely welcoming and helpful. Conversation with everyone is inspiring. People sharing their backgrounds shows a common need for involvement in a group that wants a better world for all. Ideas of community involvement, political activism, ask an atheist booths, and others came out of the discussion. A movement to become a not-for-profit group or non-profit group is underway. We want any donations to be a tax benefit and a group to oversee the process. Moreover, this group brought back that good feeling of community that was lost by some when leaving their places of worship or families. We are a loving family of atheists. The future of the group holds many possibilities.
