Elasticsearch - Release party with ViennaDB Meetup Group

Details
Good news folks! Our first meeting has been officially confirmed and scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2014. ALEXANDER REELSEN (https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexanderreelsen)* from Elasticsearch has accepted our invitation and will be our guest! Our next awesome guest speaker will be MICHAL BARLA (http://sk.linkedin.com/pub/michal-barla/5/90b/107)** co-owner at minio
We are happy to announce that this is going to be a joint meetup with our friends from ViennaDB Meetup Group (https://www.meetup.com/ViennaDB-The-Austrian-Database-Meetup-Group/).
Schedule:
19:00 Introduction + org. stuff
19:05 "Beyond Search Queries" by Michal Barla
Michal will talk about how do users interact with search engines ? What can we learn from this behavior? How can we make search engines better? How do we measure quality of search results and what are the key metrics? Do you even measure the quality of your search? Let's take a walk standing on the shoulders of giants like Google, Yahoo or Yandex and learn about the recent advances in search research. Make no mistake, even if you never ever finished reading any research article, this will be no rocket science, but highly usable tips. There might be some equations along the way, though.
**Michal is co-owner of minio s.r.o. - a software development company, researcher and lecturer at FIIT STU. Personalization, recommender systems, databases.
19:30 "What's new in Elasticsearch 1.0" by Alex Reelsen
Alex will introduce us to all new features in Elasticsearch. Elasticsearch is moving fast! Every release is packed with new features or important bugfixes, and it can be hard for users to keep up. This presentation will explore the latest and greatest features of Elasticsearch. Alex will guide you through these features but also he will also explain the rationale behind the development decisions. And, instead of looking only at past releases, we will also take a look at whats coming next!
*Alexander Reelsen is an ElasticSearch developer, who is interested in all things search & scale. Having done web development (https://www.meetup.com/Elasticsearch-Usergroup-Vienna/events/181210202/#) on the JVM for a couple of years, he decided it is time to switch to something new and has been working on ElasticSearch for quite some time now. Besides that, he loves basketball and enjoys either watching or playing whenever possible.
After official talks, there will be time also for some networking with beer and pizza. This should help to get the the conversation started !
