Talk Details

  1. Adding Elasticsearch To An Existing .NET / Sql Server Application presented by Craig Lebowitz of NGP VAN

Craig will demonstrate how NGPVAN added ElasticSearch on top of an existing .NET/Sql Server application to improve its search capabilities. He will focus on how changed data in the RDBMS flows into the index in near real time and how Elasticsearch supports multitenancy. Craig will show how to apply this approach to any application using Sql Server.

Craig is enterprise architect at NGPVAN and has been advocating and using Elasticsearch for the past nine months. NGPVAN's web applications are used by progressive political campaigns of all sizes: from Joe for Dog Catcher to Barack Obama for President.

Elasticsearch and Hadoop presented by Steve Mayzak of Elasticsearch, Inc.

Hadoop has become one of the de facto standards for storing data from Gigabytes to Petabytes but how do you search that data in a near real time way? With the power of the Elasticsearch Hadoop project, you can search over the vast amounts of data you are storing in Hadoop using technologies you probably already know like MapReduce, Pig, Hive and Cascading. Join us to learn more about this important addition to the Elasticsearch ecosystem.
