Ember ATX Special Event with Tom Dale

This is it: the biggest EmberATX event yet!

Tom Dale, co-founder of Tilde and co-creator of Ember.js, will be sharing insight and info with us about Ember.js, the state of Ember 1.0, and the future of the framework.

We'll also have a couple of lightning talks about the cool stuff local developers are doing with Ember.

This month we're joining up with AustinJS, and the location is set for Frog Design at 6th and Congress.

Afterward, we'll be doing some post-meetup socializing at The Ginger Man.

Thanks so much to our community members for supporting, and for our sponsors (CSD, The Frontside, Huboard, and Hadoop) for making this event possible!

There's much more info to come, but space is limited to about 100, so please claim your spot early, jump on the waiting list if it gets full, and remember to open the spot for someone else it if you can't make it.

If anyone wants the audio from Tom's speech, I've uploaded it to my homepage here: https://www.danpopp.net/audio/em...

I agree with Zach! It was my first time going to a js meetup of any sorts! The beer was great and the talk was awesome! I have never written ember but Tom engaged all by his overview sprinkled with a few advanced topics. Needless to say I'm going to be writing a lil less backbone and a lot more ember!

Being my first Ember Meetup attended, this was a great experience. Very friendly and accessible. Thanks to the organizers, other attendees, and Mr Dale for being engaging and fun.

Hi there, totally understandable. The AustinJS team is bringing equipment and we'll do our dead-level best to create a decent video for those who couldn't make it.

Sorry to have to say this but I've had an unexpected thing come up and won't be able to make it tonight :( I've changed my RSVP to "no" so some one else who wants to go can make it. Hope you guys have a good time!

Missed the 120 mark by couple seconds. Is it alright if I still show up? :)

You should be good to go due to a cancellation. Prepare for funtimes!

I'm 101! I just RSVP'd. Got room for one more?

    • Brandon H.

Daniel, I bumped the limit to 120 to account for the fact that we've historically had 20% no-show rate. More than that and we're at risk to run out of space, food, and beer. You should be good, we'll open a wait list after 120 though.

wait do i have to join this group to RSVP please no

    October 1, 2013

    • Brandon H.

Yeah, sorry about that. So at this rate, I think we're unlikely to far surpass the 100 attendee mark that was the reason I wanted RSVPs in the first place. If you don't want the spam of the additional group and don't want to un-sign up for it later, I think it's safe to skip the RSVP and just show up.
