Scott Messinger w/ Lessons learned from building a real time, offline collaborative editing experience with Ember

For the last year, we've been using Ember and Ember-Model to power a real time, offline collaborative lesson planning site. With off the shelf solutions in sufficient for our needs, we developed a backend implementing a variation of the JSON patch spec that would receive (and send) deltas from our Ember app. Applying patches to models in Ember wasn't always pretty and in this talk I'll discuss why. I'll also share the challenges unique to collaborative document editing, our basic architecture, some lessons learned, and some things I wish I would have done differently.
