January 2014 Meetup—We're Back!

Welcome back, everyone! We took a Nov/Dec holiday break, but we're ready to jump back in :) There have been lots of fantastic developments in Ember, and many new community members looking to share their talks and thoughts.

The next Ember.js meetup will take place on Tuesday, January 21st. A big thank you to our friends at Microsoft for hosting, and Zendesk for providing the food! We often run out of space and are always on the hunt for new bigger venues; be sure to save your spot! You DO need to RSVP to attend this event.

Could we get web streaming for any chance?. Hangouts on air maybe :)

Good thought :) We try, but in general, unless a venue is specifically set up for it, it rarely works reliable. We should definitely make another attempt though—perhaps next month at the Meetup at Yahoo!

Howdy organizers, could we get a little clarification on how to find our way into the venue? 835 Market appears to be part of Westfield Mall, is that right?

Also, are there any recommendations for bike parking?

    Thank you!

Will there be a place to put bikes or do we have to park outside?

Sorry Kelly :( I was notified about new threads but for some reason not new comments on existing threads. Hope you got it sorted out alright!

If any waitlist folk are nearby, there's extra food and a couple more seats, so feel free to crash :)

We're here on the 7th floor and people are filing in. There's some great BBQ courtesy of Zendesk. The wifi is the MSFTGUEST network and the credentials are Username: usmsguest Password: Vf4d4734. Find me if you need anything :)

What are the odds of getting a friend in, i.e.how long is the wait list?

Unfortunately, it's tremendous :/ 75 people or so. I'm about to email attendees to remind them to update RSVPs if they can't make it, but that's *still* an intensely long list. So sorry, we've been looking for larger spaces, but this is the best we've got so far.

I've had the book "Ember in Action" on my Amazon wish list for the past 6 months. I just discovered that I could buy a preview of the eBook with Manning.com's MEAP program. I've been reading the book for the past few days and I highly recommend it!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
