Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from, are you new in town... ?

I am from the UK and have been in Dubai for nearly 2 years. Married to Nadia for a long.........time, we have previously lived in South Africa and Swaziland. I run the development side for a large engineering consultancy operating throughout the region including India and Pakistan. Other interests seem to revolve around food - cooking and fine dining and travelling in search of the elusive great image or more food!.

What specific areas of photography are you most interested in?

Probably guilty in trying most genres and as a result maybe not quite mastering any! Have always liked black and white. Its really a case of making the most of what is around you - in Africa it was all wildlife and landscape, here its people and architecture.

What would you most like to learn about or improve in your photography?

Have never really mastered flash or used any specialist lighting or studio facilities. Could certainly improve on people and portraits.

What photography skills can you share with other members?

Would probably rate myself as a goodish amateur and certainly understand most of the functionality in modern DSLR cameras and shoot in full manual regularly - so could explain this to others. Generally self taught but have been on workshops this year with Bryan Peterson in Abu Dhabi and Paul Gallagher in UK from which there were certainly lessons to pass on.

Does your profile photo clearly show your face (and nobody else’s) and list your real name (first name at least)? If you have an objection to uploading a photo, please explain it to an organizer at an EPyC event before submitting your application.

Yes
