Hi all

Thanks for making the last 3 events a great success! We had 30 people at the Ghost Town shoot, if not a few more, and 13 people braved the humidity to attend the Sharjah shoot. Tareq, thumbs up to you for arranging that one.

We did learn a few things about organising the meetings a little better. Our sincere apologies to Zelda for getting you lost, but thank you for coming and spending time with us :)

I want to give a special thank you to Rick for an eye-opening demo of Photoshop CS5 last Tuesday, and he did it on his birthday! Happy Birthday Rick, and I look forward to seeing you in November once you're back.

Training for our members

Hana has been actively arranging a number of opportunities for our members, including heavily discounted training on Studio Lighting for Fashion & Portrait Photography. Expect an email announcement soon. For Adobe enthusiasts, we have some news:

Gary Schmid, Creative Director at Smart Designs is willing to offer discounted training to our members. If there is interest we can set a date and arrange the course.

Currently, one day would be AED840 (8 hours including coffee break & lunch). A two day course
would be AED1,490 for both days. 6 people minimum, 10 maximum. If there is interest we will negotiate the discount.

If we arrange our own coffee/lunch we will save about AED125. Since Gary used a hotel for his training, perhaps we might save more if we can use the Pavilion free of cost.

Possible dates are Friday/Saturday end of October - 21/22nd or 28/29th.

This email will posted to the discussion board, please post responses there. With enough interest we will book and organise the event.
