In this group, people with varying interests in metaphysics come together to discuss and learn from each other. Topics vary widely, and meetings range from formally selected topics to totally informal "let's see where it takes us" discussions. And on occasions when this group is nothing more than a safe, quiet place to spend a Saturday night with like-minded people, it still serves its purpose.

The study of metaphysics is like a buffet with many options: the delicious favorites that you devour, the new and exciting options that you sample sparingly, and unfamiliar and weird-looking delicacies that you stare at dubiously. Thus, here are a few thoughts to facilitate group interaction:

• If a discussion topic just isn't your bag, that's OK. No one will force you to accept an idea that doesn't resonate with you.
  
• If someone is speaking so enthusiastically that it feels like they're forcing you to accept an idea, forgive them their zeal and refer to #1.
  
• If you are the one speaking enthusiastically, be aware of whether you're leaving room for others not to accept what you're saying.
