About End the Fed!

Welcome members!

This Meetup group was formed originally to promote Ron Paul's presidential nomination in May 2007, and has evolved and was renamed to promote another important event - to End The Fed! It was formed to kick off a national effort to bring an end to the Federal Reserve. The event that is expected to begin a process that will eventually End The Fed! is the peaceful, non-violent nationwide rally for Sound Money for America, which will take place in 39 cities on November 22nd, 2008. The 22nd of November was chosen partially due to the significance of the date - November 22nd is the 45th Anniversary of the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy - who had on his agenda as president to bring issue money backed by precious metals, not by fiat currency, as implemented by the Federal Reserve System. It is also the anniversary date that the Federal Reserve was formed in 1910 by a few select private bankers, as stated in G. Edward Griffin's book, The Creature from Jeckyll Island.

Each city has organizers that are working as a team to coordinate the effort and to organize each rally in each city. Some cities will have concerts, platforms, and speakers, such as Ron Paul, and other prominent figures. Some cities will consist simply of people coming together to sign wave and hand-out literature to the general public which will educate them about the Federal Reserve, and why it needs to be abolished, as stated in Ron Paul's HR 2755, a bill to Abolish the Federal Reserve Act.
