Electronic Teachers' Assistants that work analog to nurse practitioners in medicine that are taking over the gateway and routine functions so that the specialists (teachers) can focus on those that need help the most on an efficient management-by-exception manner. Electronic Teachers' Assistants guide students from one Learning Element to another as they master them and guides them to effective learning aids (from all sources, e.g. tutorial videos) and practice and assessment tools and alerts teachers when students are having difficulty that needs teacher intervention (teacher is guide/ally to the students). This enables individualized, mastery-based education which enables almost every student to graduate with an A average. (Of course the individualized learning is mixed with projects where students practice applying what they learned and learn to work effectively with others.)
ME from Boston University, entrepreneur and architect of large scale, web-based SaaS applications. Spent many years studying education in US and internationally and build course sequence at major university. Conceived and implemented student motivation projects (4 of which averaged around 100,000 students from more than a thousand schools) Currently building world-wide, non-profit youth network to dramatically change education. Looking for more volunteers to join our effort.
I am involved in largescale initiatives to dramatically improve K-12 achievement in the next few years in number of countries (especially bottom half of students) -based on individualized, mastery-based education & will look very different from today
