We have been working with a major finance and banking client to create an automated pipeline that application engineers and infrastructure engineers use to validate their changes to the infrastructure code to ensure it works as expected, but also meets the compliance standards of the bank. The pipeline allows product teams to check their infrastructure changes against their applications before deploying to the production infrastructure and infrastructure engineering teams to control the promotion of infrastructure changes through a devolved model.

As part of the presentation we will run a demonstration of the pipeline we built as well as the approach we took to introducing it to the bank and getting approval to test and roll it out. The configuration management tool that is managed by the pipeline is Chef.

Digital by Default - Building APIs for the Government

The government has determined that all departments should take a digital by default approach to delivering new and improved services, by offering APIs to software developers on top of any online capabilities. At HMRC, Equal Experts has built an API platform (currently in private beta) that makes turning our microservices into public APIs simple. While providing the technical platform is essential, we recognise that to create truly beautiful APIs requires education of all stakeholders. This is where we’ll lead the platform next.
