Chicago Erlang Users - February 2014

Details
After a Q4 hiatus, Chicago Erlang is back - 20 lbs lighter, improved muscle tone, and resting heart rate of 60! We're ready for 2014!
We have two amazing talks on the docket:
Debugging Erlang Applications In Real Timeby Reid Draper
We’ll look at one of Erlang’s strongest features: the ability to debug a live-running system. After some introduction, we’ll dive into some realistic examples where this technique shines. You should walk away with basic Redbug tracing skills.
Things About Erlang That Will Surprise Youby Jesse Gumm
Have you ever seen records magically disappear from a list, or wondered why a list like [68, 40, 122] confusingly converts itself to a string in the Erlang Shell? Or run into issues where the Erlang VM is holding a seemingly inordinate amount of memory? In this talk, Jesse will discuss a number of non-obvious things about Erlang that might confuse, mislead, or outright bite you, whether you're just getting started or are experienced.
Thanks once again to Braintree for their generous hosting - including beer and pizza!
