Browser-based Web Application Testing With Nitrogen

Jesse Gumm

Building automated tests that run in the browser but verify the results server-side is not something that's terribly easy in Erlang. Selenium is probably the best known, but it requires plugins and has licensing issues. Nitrogen 2.3 introduced a built-in testing suite, and in this talk, Jesse will demonstrate how to build automated tests for Nitrogen applications that run in the browser without the use of plugins.

Hands On Code

Everyone!

This month we're introducing a new concept - Chicago Erlang will start a project to build some real, useful totally amazing software! We'll use this to teach and learn Erlang - hands on and real. We'll take some time to decide on a project, create a github repo - and get started on the code!

In future meetings and the occasional Saturday, we'll enhance the project.

This will be a ton of fun - and if you're new to Erlang and want to learn how real world apps are built, don't miss it!
