Chicago Erlang Users - November 2011

  • Nov 16, 2011 · 6:30 PM
  • Orbitz

Chicago / Chile's very own Eric Merritt will be presenting: Building Enterprise Erlang Applications with Sinan.

Building, testing and assembling enterprise scale Erlang releases with the existing build systems, like make, emake, rebar and reltool is way more difficult then it should be. Learn how, with a bit of additional metadata, you can trivially build and assemble your Multi-App Erlang Projects into releases with Sinan. Designed from the ground up to handle everything from single OTP Applications to large scale projects, Sinan solves your build issue.

Garrett Smith will also be briefly speaking on: News From the Vatican - 2011 Erlang User Conference, Stockholm

Learn what the Pope and the Cardinals and the rest of the priesthood are up to in the Land of Erlang. For example, did you know that there's a company other than Ericsson that has over 100 Erlang developers? Other tidbits include what's the Next Big Thing for Erlang and which language founding father can hold his liquor the best!

That was pretty good meet up last week. Eric's demo of Sinan was excellent. The discussion points were very relevant and thought-provoking. Look forward to more such meet ups and particularly for the Jan meet up where I am hoping that discussion would be around how to get business & executive buy-in for Erlang roll-out in big corporates!!
