Secularism in America — a 50-Year Perspective

Ellery Schempp, Ph.D. - board member of the Secular Coalition of America.

From high school activist to lifelong advocate for separation of church and state, Schempp has been a role model for secularists. Through his activism with the Secular Coalition for America, he displays the same commitment and drive of the 16 year-old principal he was in the Supreme Court decision outlawing mandatory prayer in public schools. Now, many years later, he is co-chair of the new Secular Coalition for Massachusetts.
