The Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County, in Teaneck, NJ, was founded in 1953 as a progressive, ethics-centered community and is part of the Ethical Culture movement which was founded in New York City in 1873 by Felix Adler. Ethical Culture puts ethics, human flourishing, social justice and political action at the center of the search for a meaningful life.
Join this Meetup group and, better yet, come for a visit! All our Meetup group meetings are open to the public and include more than just Meetup members. Members participate in social justice and community building projects. There's also plenty of opportunities for fun and games through our community wide celebrations.

Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County, 687 Larch Ave, Teaneck, NJ, USLocal Indivisible organizers, including Arati Kreibich, Elisa Cruz, Daniel Martinho, and Teresa Yi-Bourdett, explain their model for translating protest into power: getting people to turn out, mobilizing around an agenda for change, and talking to power.
In this discussion, moderated by the Society’s Social Action Chair, Lisa Schwartz, the panel will offer insight into how local community support can turn ripples of response into a wave of progress.

Somatic Practices Workshop
Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County, 687 Larch Ave, Teaneck, NJ, USThis workshop, facilitated by Solasta “Sol” McIntyre, therapist, educator, and writer, offers an introduction to somatic psychology and practices for professionals and volunteers. It is designed for therapists, educators, faith leaders, nonprofit employees, and community organizers to help support clients who may benefit from somatic practices.
Somatic practices center on body-brain connectivity. They help manage stress and support emotional resilience, and may be particularly beneficial to neurodiverse persons and those coping with stress or trauma.
This workshop, open to all, is co-sponsored by our Society and the Central Unitarian Church of Westwood.
A $20 optional donation is requested, and registration is required.
