Raft the Middle Fork of the Willamette River.
Details
Hello pack rafters!
[The date for this event will be determined once there are people who are willing to join up.]
This will be a 2 hour float down the Middle Fork of the Willamette River. This river is rated as a Class II. I want to see how many people are able to join (and if there are any pack rafters out there).
We will put in a Greenwaters Park which is 1/4 west of Oakridge, and we'll take out at Black Canyon Campground. Our meetup point will be Black Canyon Campground which is 6 miles west of Oakridge. We will then carpool up to Greenwaters park.
Directions to Black Canyon Campground: From Oakridge, follow Hwy 58 west to the Campground which is located 1 mile east of Lookout Point Reservoir.
Campground details: Located in the Willamette National Forrest, Black Canyon Campground is located next to the Middle Fork of the Willamette River adjacent to Lookout Point Reservoir. Campsites are nestled amongst large, mature Douglas fir and cedar trees. A one-mile nature trail winds through the campground. Because of the lush vegetation and old growth, even on the hottest summer day this site offers a little cooler temperature with the towering trees providing shade and a breeze blowing off the water. The boat ramp remains open year round.
Please have a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) available for use.
Okay... let's get out and have some fun!
