Evaluator’s Insights into SBIRs

Details

Dr. Charles H. Jones is one of the people that decided who got some of the government’s money. He spent over 15 years involved with the SBIR program from the government side. He developed topics, evaluated proposals, managed contracts and provided technical oversight. Over his career he personally managed about $15M of government research contracts and had input into hundreds of millions of dollars of contracts. He has evaluated hundreds of proposals.

Join us on March 18th for a workshop where he will present some of the lessons learned from this experience. An emphasis will be on common weaknesses he saw in SBIR proposals. During the presentation he will:

  1. Present and discuss the standard sections of a SBIR proposal.
  2. Facilitate interactive discussion of the technical objectives and statement of work
  3. Present the list of common weaknesses he saw
  4. Q&A Participants who wish to prepare for the workshop should start by assuming they have found a request for a proposal related to their product. Thinking about what R&D needs to be done, write down one or two technical objectives, Then write down one or two activities to be performed as if they were part of a statement of work.
