Parent organization! I hope this will be the start of an information foundation that will help keep us parents better informed and connected, and ultimately more effective.
Yes. Two have already graduated from South Eugene HS (in the classic / AP program). One currently enrolled at Sheldon in the IHS Spanish Immersion program, going after the IB diploma.
An organization that effectively provides the tools to help students develop learning skills that will enable them to realize their learning potential. I believe such an organization will have more evenly distributed responsibility and authority between students, parents, teachers, and administrators. I believe technology, and in particular social media, will serve a much greater role in the democratization of this education system (as is the case in society in general). I'm very concerned about what appears to be the District moving in the exact opposite direction, towards more top-down / centralized decision-making.
