FAQ:
Q: What is the definitive list of sensors that are available for this Hackathon?
A: Each Part Number is
Shock sensor; PKGS-25WXP1-R
Ultrasonic sensor; MA40H1S-R
Temp sensor; NTH-S035-XH103F050
RFID; LXMS21NCNH-147, LXMS33HCNK-171, LXMSAPHA17-176
BLE; LBCA2HNZYZ-TEMP-DK
We have a plan to add more sensors. Once we are prepare technical info, we would like to share new sensors with you.
Q: Will there be multiple API’s to work with?
-
Python based api
-
C/ some sort of an assembly instruction set.
-
C++
-
javascript?
A: All starter kits of sensors should be connected to microcomputer. We will prepare a code for Arduino
Q: What sort of data do we expect to receive from each of the sensors?
-
units, frequency of scan (e.g. PBE - how often does it scan?)
-
Shock sensors - what data?
-
accelerometer?
-
How will the data look like? if what format do we receive it?
A: For instance, we can give you “get_data();” for shock sensor. In general it is one time, so if you want to get the data regularly, please use a timer inside of SW and use “get_data();” with certain time.
Q: Can we get a sample code that uses each of the sensors to get a grasp of the best practice of using the sensors?
A: We will share simple one by each sensor. For instance, attached is for shock sensor code for Arduino. Please take a look at.
Q: Is it possible to have the api and documentations as a github repository for easier manage and control?
A: We Murata do not open our info to github. Murata have “myMurata” which is communication web tool with customers/partners. Let us share myMurata info shortly.
Q: Do we get to use only one of the sensors at a time? is it possible to combine them?
A: Yes, you can use any sensors if you want. No limitation.
Q: Have there been tests regarding noise corruption on the sensors?
A: We did test internally. Not for anyone.
Q: What’s the largest amount of sensors we can use?
A: Number of sample is limited at the event, but you can use any sensors.
Q: Can we use the sensors for different purposes other than their title for example - using the distance center to see ambient light?
A: Yes, of course.
Q: Can we get the specs of each sensor?
A: We will prepare the specs shortly and share them with you.
Q: How precise will be the data we get for each sensor?
A: Sorry, but this time we cannot share the data/level with you due to demonstration boards / starter kits
Q: Do we require any specialized hardware/software for reading data from the sensors?
A: No. anything is okay this time.
Q: Can you supply any “extra reading” materials that you, the organizer, think are relevant?
A: Yes, we will prepare the materials as much as we can. We will share them shortly.
Q: Access to materials/equipment on-site, such as 3D printers. What can we use, besides our own desk-space?
A: We will announce what we will prepare at the room shortly.
Q: Is it perhaps possible to get Gyroscope sensors or Accelerometers sensors in addition to the other sensors?
A: This time No. Please use nominated sensors. We will add more sensors and announce them shortly.
