Aromatherapy, the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant via inhalation or topical application, can help the body to cure itself and improve immune response. It has also been shown useful in treating pain, insomnia, and anxiety. Much as your sense of taste activates receptivity to the foods you eat, your sense of smell activates a chemical process as well. In each monthly class, we will discuss two essential oils in detail - From what part of the plant does it come? How is it prepared? What are its uses? In addition, we will discuss carrier oils, contraindications, and safety concerns for each scent. Because smell is tied so strongly to memory, we do use the oil in the class to assist your understanding and recall; if you have a known allergy to a specific herb, please consider not attending the class for those oils.

November's class will focus on Eucalyptus & Roman Chamomile for Immune Support.
