We live in times of rapid change. The question is how we will change. Will we let personal and/or global changes and crises push us toward fear, greed, and contraction? Or will we find ways to consistently choose compassion, love, generosity and connection? I believe that each of our psyches and lives is a microcosm and a hologram of the whole; the choices we make moment by moment, and day by day, contribute to the larger human collective. Each of us is like the proverbial butterfly, flapping our tiny wings and making ripples that extend to the other side of the globe. I hope you'll join me in working to live more fully from love, and from our evolutionary selves.

What's the "evolutionary self"? It's a fancy new name for a part of yourself you already know - a part of you that yearns for a life, and a world, filled with more joy, more justice, and more connection to yourself, others, and the planet. That part of you is also willing to do the hard work to help bring that vision into being - but, if you're like most of us, you're not always sure how to go about it, or how to find others with similar priorities. This Meetup is designed to help address both of those issues! You'll have a chance to come together with others who feel this calling. We'll go through some processes that can help you identify what jolts you out of your evolutionary self - and what's needed to realign you to that deep sense of mission and purpose. You'll have a chance to talk one-on-one with other people in attendance, to start building community with like-minded people. And you'll get to hear more about the ongoing support groups I'm forming - so you can see if it feels right for you to join one.

Read below for more details about my vision of the groups. Topics and practices listed are examples of what we may do; the exact curriculum for each group will be determined according to the experience, needs and preferences of its members.

Spiritual Evolution: A Group for Skill-Building, Practice and Support

Skill-Building and Learning will include:

  • How grounding yourself on your own center, rather than on anything or anyone else, can bring you peace and serenity in changing times (which, of course, means now and all the time!) – and how to get there.

  • How living life from and on behalf of your evolutionary self, rather than your ego, fills your daily experience with meaning and purpose – and how to initiate and sustain this changed focus.

  • Self-responsibility as the posture of power and joy: learn exactly how you create your own emotional reality (even when you don’t want to!), and how you can break through to freedom.

  • Joy as navigational aid: how to use and trust the built-in GPS that tells you when you’re on- or off-track in your evolutionary arc.

  • Radical self-sufficiency and absolute interdependence: the paradox of spiritual maturity – how understanding and encompassing these seeming opposites can help you live a life that is both more autonomous, and more profoundly connected to all that is.

Spiritual Practice and Emotional Healing will include:

  • Embodying true self-compassion – how to do it, why it’s essential, and why it’s entirely different from “feeling good about yourself” or boosting your self-esteem.

  • Retrieving and reintegrating lost and stuck parts of yourself – how to heal ancient wounds, shift repetitive patterns, and move forward in wholeness.

  • Practice various forms of meditation, ritual, work with intention and prayer, and other transformative tools – and learn how creating and developing your own personal spiritual practice (rather than just learning other people’s practices) can transform your life.

  • Learn to use energy tools that can shift difficult emotions, dissolve painful inner obstacles, clear negative self-talk or addictive behaviors, and more.

  • Connect and work with wise inner guidance: your own Higher Self and Future Self, spirit guides, angels, power animals, and other absolutely benevolent forces and energies.

Evolutionary Support will include:

  • Develop and practice true spiritual friendship! – a form of fierce compassion and camaraderie that helps us truly support and further each other’s growth, rather than helping each other stay stuck in non-evolutionary comfort zones.

If this vision resonates for you, I hope to see you soon! If you can't make the Intro evening but think you may be interested in joining an ongoing group, feel free to call me, 510-472-4542.

To our co-evolution!
